SlipSeekers Privacy & Security Policy
Effective Date: June 3, 2026
This policy describes how SlipSeekers collects, uses, shares, protects, and retains your information while operating our vessel-to-moorage matching platform.
1. Introduction & Scope
SlipSeekers.com ("SlipSeekers," "we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy and is dedicated to securing the personal information entrusted to us. This Privacy & Security Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and safeguard information obtained through our matching platform, applications, and customer support channels.
2. Information We Collect
To operate our subscription vessel-to-moorage matching framework, we collect several categories of information:
- Account Information: Name, email address, phone number, mailing address, billing zip code, and secure login credentials.
- Vessel Data: Manufacturer, model, year, registration or hull identification numbers (optional/voluntary), and physical measurements including length overall (LOA), beam, draft, displacement, and photos.
- Moorage & Inventory Data: Specific slip location, physical dimensions, slip numbering, clearance heights, utility access, pricing schedules, and marina rules.
- Technical & Usage Analytics: IP addresses, browser types, device identifiers, operating system specifications, cookie tracking tokens, and platform clickstream interactions.
- Precise Geolocation Data: Real-time physical location coordinates derived from your device's GPS or network connection, collected only if you explicitly authorize location tracking to find proximate moorage listings.
3. How We Use Your Information & Algorithmic Processing
We process personal and asset data to operate, maintain, and secure the platform; calculate preliminary matching metrics and compatibility scores; manage billing and subscriptions; monitor for fraud and abuse; and comply with legal obligations and our Terms of Service.
Algorithmic Limitation: Automated matches are provided to streamline discovery and do not constitute an official background check, legal audit, or verified certification of user data. We do not use automated processing to make legally binding eligibility decisions.
4. How Information Is Disclosed and Shared
SlipSeekers does not sell your personal information to third parties for monetary compensation. Information is disclosed under controlled parameters:
- Public/User Matching Display: Data necessary to introduce vessel owners to moorage opportunities may be displayed to authenticated users at your direction to complete core matching functionality.
- Service Providers: Verified vendors supporting cloud hosting, analytics, communications, and monitoring tools.
- Legal Protections: To comply with lawful requests, protect users/platform integrity, and enforce user agreements.
- Corporate Transactions: In a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or asset sale, user data may be securely transferred.
5. Third-Party Payment Redirection Security
SlipSeekers does not collect, ingest, view, or store raw credit card numbers, CVV codes, or bank account credentials. All payment capture and subscription processing are handled by a PCI-DSS compliant third-party payment gateway (for example, Stripe). Financial data is entered directly into encrypted provider-managed interfaces.
6. Cookies, Local Storage, and Tracking Technologies
We use session and persistent cookies, web beacons, and local browser storage to preserve authentication state, remember preferences, analyze trends, and track subscription flows. Blocking cookies may limit platform functionality.
7. Data Retention Architecture
We retain data only as long as needed for business purposes described in this policy, service operation, audit and security logging, dispute resolution, Terms enforcement, and applicable legal retention obligations.
8. Cloud Infrastructure & Security Architecture
SlipSeekers uses Amazon Web Services (AWS) for core hosting, databases, and application infrastructure. Our security controls align with the AWS Shared Responsibility Model.
- Inherited Infrastructure Security: AWS data centers and audited controls including ISO/IEC 27001, SOC 1/2/3, and PCI-DSS Level 1 programs.
- Network Isolation & Access Controls: VPC isolation, security groups, WAF controls, least-privilege access, and MFA for administrative access.
- Encryption In Transit & At Rest: TLS/HTTPS in transit and encrypted storage for databases and file assets.
- Monitoring & Resilience: Automated auditing, anomaly alerting, and multi-zone backup/recovery mechanisms.
No internet-connected system is guaranteed to be absolutely secure. SlipSeekers continuously monitors and improves defenses but cannot guarantee infallible security.
9. International Data Transfers
SlipSeekers operates from infrastructure in the United States. If you access the platform from outside North America, your data may be transferred to and processed in the United States, where legal protections may differ from your local jurisdiction.
10. U.S. State-Specific Privacy Rights
Residents of certain U.S. states (including California, Texas, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, and Florida) may have rights to access, correct, delete, and in some cases opt out of targeted advertising/profiling or limit use of sensitive personal data.
To submit a verified request, contact privacy@slipseekers.com. We verify identity before actioning requests and do not discriminate against lawful privacy-rights exercises.
11. Children's Privacy
The Service is intended for adults and not for individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.
12. Policy Updates
We may update this Privacy & Security Policy periodically. Updates are effective when posted to this page. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acknowledgement of revised practices.
